【Tsing Yi Trade Association Primary School · A Visit to a Tech Enterprise】
Stepping out of the classroom, our students visited the office of international tech company Telstra for a fun and highly meaningful STEAM interactive experience!
Design Thinking × Solving Problems for the Elderly Centred around the theme "Solving Daily Challenges for the Elderly," the activity turned students into young innovators. Using the five stages of Design Thinking—Define, Ideate, Prototype, and Test—they tried to put themselves in the shoes of the elderly to understand the difficulties they face every day. Through group discussions, students brainstormed various thoughtful solutions: smart medication reminders to help the elderly manage their medication easily, smart mobility robots, and even communication devices to connect them with their families. Their ideas were full of care and creativity!
Hands-on with AR 3D Technology
In addition to applying their problem-solving skills, students also got hands-on experience with the latest AR 3D technology! Using tablets and AR software, they transformed their creations into 3D models in real-time and interactively displayed them in physical environments.
School-Enterprise Collaboration Inspiring the Future
A huge thank you to the Telstra team for their thoughtful planning and professional guidance! They helped the students of Tsing Yi Trade Association Primary School not only acquire STEAM knowledge but also understand how technology can bring warmth to the community and help those in need in our society. Throughout the process, the students also sharpened their communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills, truly embodying the core competencies of the 21st century.
Let's take a look at the wonderful highlights from the day!
