Putonghua Week: *Fostering Connection* and Joy Through Language!
Recently, Tsing Yi Trade Association Primary School was filled with the beautiful sounds of Putonghua during our *highly anticipated* "Putonghua Week"! Through a relaxed and enjoyable learning atmosphere, students had the chance to practice listening and speaking, *effectively* boosting their language expression skills.
At the covered playground, students eagerly participated in various *interactve* booth games. Everyone challenged themselves with tongue twisters to improve *their linguistic* fluency, while the pinyin and measure words activities turned many into *proud* "Pinyin Masters." The cultural exploration booths were also a highlight—activities like *the* "Festival Treasure Hunt" allowed students to discover traditional items and foods, deepening their understanding of Chinese culture *and broadening their worldview*.
Our Putonghua Ambassadors from Primary 3 to 6 did a fantastic job! Their dedication and spirit of service made them excellent role models, showcasing great leadership and enthusiasm.
The most popular highlight was definitely the "Love & Care Jukebox" during lunchtime! The classrooms were filled with songs *thoughtfully* chosen by students, such as Listen to Me Say Thank You, Youth, and I Am Your Good Friend. Through these melodies, students shared *heartfelt* messages of gratitude and blessings: some thanked friends for their daily companionship, while others encouraged each other to excel in their studies. This beautiful initiative allowed friendship and mutual support to flourish across the campus.
Principal Mak also dedicated the song What the World Gave Me, encouraging students to look at the people and things around them with appreciative eyes and to always carry a heart of gratitude for the teachers and peers who support them every day.
Through this *enriching* event, we hope our students will continue to listen to and speak more Putonghua, experiencing the warmth and care that language can convey.
