“AI Wing Chun Experience Day” Successfully Concluded!
Earlier on, Dr. Kaman Lee, Project Director from Hong Kong Shue Yan University, together with Master Jerry Yeung Wing-chik (a former Hong Kong Sanda representative and project advisor), and his team held an engaging “AI Wing Chun Experience Day” for students of all grade levels from Tsing Yi Trade Association Primary School. Through interactive sessions, students explored the rich meaning and heritage of “Yip Man Wing Chun” as part of Hong Kong’s intangible cultural heritage.
Regular Training: Building a strong foundation through “Siu Nim Tao”
At our school, every Wednesday during morning assembly, all students and teachers practise Siu Nim Tao on the playground to learn the basic skills of Wing Chun. This time, the workshop took the learning experience a step further: students had the chance to use the Virtual Wing Chun Learning System to experience how innovative technology can support martial arts training—while also understanding the technology and knowledge behind it, making the training more interesting and effective.
Technology & Martial Arts: Hands-on experience and rewarding outcomes
Guided by Master Yeung and his on-site assistants, students learned and practised various Wing Chun techniques. With the help of technology, Principal Mak and over a hundred students took turns completing the “AI Wing Chun” test to evaluate their learning outcomes, feeling the immense joy and excitement of blending traditional culture with innovative technology! The atmosphere was warm and joyful throughout the event. Not only did everyone learn the movements, but they also gained a deeper appreciation for traditional Chinese culture—especially the values of respect for teachers and dedication to practice.
