Day 2: Sichuan Ecological and Cultural Study Tour
On the second day of the Sichuan Ecological Culture Study Tour , students stepped into the poetry of Du Fu , shared laughter at our sister school, and learned about the famous history of the Three Kingdoms .
The day began with a visit to our sister school . As our teachers and students walked into Chengdu Jiaozi Primary School , they received a very warm welcome from the local teachers and students . Everyone shared happy conversations and laughter , creating a warm and friendly feeling .
During the fun activities later , students worked together to try four traditional cultural arts : Straw Weaving: They carefully wove pieces of straw to make beautiful little dragon boats . • Tie-Dye: When they opened the folded cloth, everyone was amazed by the beautiful, cloud-like patterns. • Rubbing Art : Students pressed lucky patterns onto paper to keep these good wishes for themselves . • Blue-and-White Porcelain: Finally, everyone painted beautiful blue patterns on porcelain, showing their love for traditional art .
In the afternoon , the group visited Du Fu's Thatched Cottage . Surrounded by bamboo fences , tall old trees , and green bamboo , the students were not just reading poetry —they felt like they were walking inside it. The poet's kind and caring heart, shown in his famous poem My Cottage Unroofed by Autumn Gales , felt very touching in this quiet and beautiful place .
In the evening, we remember a wise leader, where teachers and students arrived at Wuhou Shrine . Surrounded by old trees in a very respectful place , everyone listened closely to the story of Zhuge Liang’s hard work and loyalty to his country . They stood quietly in front of his famous quote: "Quiet your mind to improve yourself; live simply to build your character," thinking about the honesty and wisdom of this great leader .
Today's trip helped students connect with tradition and make friends through fun activities , understand a great poet's feelings at the Thatched Cottage , and learn about loyalty at Wuhou Shrine. We hope they take these wonderful memories with them as they continue to grow on this journey!
